FFPE Tools
AtheaDx’s RNA QC assay provides a reliable and ready-to-use assay format to screen for suitable FFPE archived tissue samples for RNA-based retrospective clinical studies
AltheaDx has developed a novel RNA quality control (RNA QC) assays that can be used to qualify FFPE samples prior to microarray and PCR-based analyses.
Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) samples are the most widely available tissue source in oncology research. However, the RNA quality from FFPE samples is significantly lower than in fresh tissue samples, because of degradation and cross-linking, and may not be suitable for RNA-based analysis, including PCR and microarray.
Multiple studies have demonstrated the feasibility to conduct RNA-based analysis by utilizing this degraded tissue source. However, a reliable method is needed to qualify FFPE samples for the usability of multiplex mRNA analysis. The AltheaDx RNA QC assays provide this solution.
